Valdivia

Valdivia, capital of Región de Los Ríos (the "River District") is unique in Chile as it is a completely water oriented city, since several different navigable rivers pass through it. It is also a main university life spot, while it has always been considered a major national tourist attraction for its history and wonderful natural scenery.

The city is located 12 km (7.5 miles) away from the Pacific Ocean shores and it is surrounded by native forests and national parks.

The weather is temperate with relatively well distinguished seasons. Generous rains give life to unique mid-latitude rainforests, called Selva Valdiviana ("Valdivian rainforest").

To access the Hotel Naguilán, there is an easy route that runs along the river. It can be reached from both the north and south gateways, simply by following the instructions given in this map and taking the Puente Calle-Calle (Calle-Calle River Brigde) as a start point.
